We started this year’s Harvest at the end of August with the grapes of our KORAI ÖRÖMÖK wine.
We harvested throughout the first week of September, at which time we picked furmint grapes in BETSEK/KORPOSD, BOMBOLY and VILMÁNY vineyards, these will be dry wines.
Unfortunately, we could not continue the harvest during the week, because it rained almost every day, except for Sept. 16th, when my two older sons and I picked FURMINT and HARSLEVELŰ from the buck-cultivated Középhegy. We picked very few, but beautiful grapes from the old vines here, I would like this wine as a “BOUTIQUE” lot as a little curiosity.
We were able to continue the harvest on October 5-6, at which time we picked the grapes from Holdvölgy and Úrágya vineyards by vineyard and variety, and left the wilting grape bunches on the stems. In the case of both vineyards, the grapes were processed by uncovering the grapes, soaking them for 24 hours, and then pressing them. Last week, on October 13-14-15, the Hegyfarok vineyard in Bodrogkeresztúr followed, where one of our lovely wines, AZ ÉLET SZÉP, was harvested. We managed to make this wine for the last time in 2011, so we are happy that we have the opportunity to do it again this year.
This is where we are now, we have left grape bunches outside on 2 hectares (4 parcels) for ASZÚ wine , we are confident that our idea will be successful!
